NorthWest Copper has released assays from three more holes in the Western Zone of its wholly owned Kwanika project in British Columbia, including a 110.0-metre interval grading 0.64% copper and 1.10 g/t gold. Resource World reported that the results come from the company’s completed 2026 drilling programme, which covered 12,291 metres across 43 holes.

The headline intersection in hole K-26-346 started at a depth of 378.0 metres and had an estimated true width of 84.3 metres. Its reported copper-equivalent grade was 1.86% CuEq, with narrower intervals of 39.8 metres at 2.53% CuEq and 16.1 metres at 4.37% CuEq. Hole K-26-259 returned 115.1 metres grading 0.42% copper and 0.69 g/t gold, or 1.19% CuEq, from 406.9 metres. K-26-264 intersected 50.9 metres at 0.38% copper and 0.73 g/t gold, also reported as 1.19% CuEq, from 487.0 metres.

According to the company’s account carried by Resource World, the infill holes reduced spacing to approximately 50 metres and supported its interpretation of geological and grade continuity in the Western Zone. The drilling was designed to improve confidence in future mineral resource updates and support Indicated classification, rather than announce a revised resource estimate.

NorthWest also reported a previously unidentified mineralised structure above the known zones in K-26-264, returning 30 metres at 1.07% CuEq. The company said drilling extended higher-grade Unit 1 up-dip and continued to identify palladium enrichment associated with Unit 2. In K-26-346, it identified additional primary porphyry mineralisation below previously defined structures, which management considers a potential avenue for expansion.

Results have now been disclosed for 14 of the programme’s 43 holes. Chief executive Paul Olmsted said the company would assess the remaining assays for their implications for the preliminary economic assessment currently under way. He also pointed to mineralisation across the Pit, North Pit Extension and Western zones as the basis for management’s view of Kwanika’s wider potential.
