Alkagesta said in a company press release that it participated in the Argus Fertilizer Caspian, Black Sea and Eastern European Markets Conference in Istanbul on 17–18 September 2026. The announcement described a programme covering changing export markets, regional trading relationships and supply-chain pressures across the fertiliser sector.

According to Alkagesta, the Argus Media-organised event attracted more than 450 participants representing over 250 companies from 45 countries. Discussions focused on the Caspian region, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The company’s delegation comprised Fertilizer Desk Lead Vusal Muradov, Fertilizer Trader Tural Sabirzade and Mustafa Yigit Shen from its operations function. Alkagesta said they met traders, producers, logistics providers and market intelligence specialists during the two-day programme.

The global fertiliser outlook was among the subjects addressed, including price dynamics, trade flows and continuing disruption to supply chains. Another theme was the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, with discussions examining its implications for imported fertilisers and competitiveness in European markets. The release also identified Türkiye’s developing position as a regional fertiliser hub as a topic for traders serving surrounding markets.

Central Asian markets featured through discussions of domestic consumption, export prospects and regional suppliers’ role in meeting European and wider international demand. Logistics sessions covered trade corridors, route developments, terminal capacity and freight trends affecting delivery efficiency. Alkagesta framed disruption to important shipping routes as exposing weaknesses in supply chains that prioritise efficiency over resilience, and said rebuilding physical supply flows takes time.

The company described its fertiliser desk as trading nitrogen, phosphate and speciality products, with a focus on developing long-term supply relationships across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and emerging agricultural markets. Separately, it said it had recently obtained access to the Argus Open Markets window for European biodiesel, HVO and UCO. Alkagesta presented that access as part of its broader participation in Argus price assessment processes across commodity markets.
